The Security Consultant job candidate will be responsible for supporting national clients and senior staff in development and delivery of consulting and design deliverables. The candidate will apply their knowledge of security practices and security systems design and operations to support and execute overall project tasks to achieve customer goals, including field assessments, risk evaluation, organizational reviews, program and process reviews, security system architecture, and detailed engineering of security and ancillary (power, grounding) systems.

The candidate will need to:

  • Attend meetings with senior staff, clients, contractors, interdisciplinary consultants, and other project team members as part of the security team
  • Conduct facility security and equipment surveys, threat and vulnerability assessments, and risk evaluations
  • Develop and evaluate alternative and recommended solutions for mitigation measures identified to support an enhanced client security posture
  • Develop, research, and define appropriate solutions, processes, and technologies to provide the required level(s) of mitigation
  • Develop budgets and detailed implementation plans for system deployment and commissioning
  • Develop security processes, procedures, and standards
  • Develop specifications and design drawings for bid
  • Review contractor submittals and respond to questions
  • Coordinate and support installation inspection, on-site testing, and verification of system implementation

Candidate must be proficient at spoken and written standard English, capable of understanding and complying with regulations and standards for security systems, able to manage multiple project priorities, diligent at maintaining good written records of conversations and decisions, capable of managing personal time to achieve project and internal goals and timelines, and able to provide required information to communicate job status and performance.

  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a security consulting environment
  • Familiarity with physical security standard practices
  • Some knowledge of current policies, procedures, and regulations (NERC, CFATS, RAM-W/T/M, RAM-CAP, J100-10, FSMA)
  • Fluent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Proficiency with standard MS Office tools, laptop computers, and/or related tools is required.
  • CPP, PSP, or similar industry certification desired
  • Bachelors or Associate degree, preferably in engineering, security or security management, or similar desired
  • Desired Additional Skills:

  • Good knowledge of physical security technologies and systems

  • Experience performing facility and campus assessments
  • Experience in evaluating risk, recommending security program modifications and re-alignments, developing processes and procedures for security program and related disciplines
  • Basic knowledge of electric power transmission/distribution systems, natural gas mid-stream and distribution systems, or water/wastewater facilities including those relating to process (ICS) systems and networks
